I may have been unclear on the third point, but I was not trying to imply that evolutionists had to subscribe to social Darwinism. It's just that some people have done so, and you are right in calling it a "nasty little idea." I was not trying to misrepresent evolutionists in general as social Darwinists. I apologize for any misunderstanding. It was unintentional. Thanks for reading my blog and for taking the time to comment!Terry Laudetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17725093818552655944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4206974101759413323.post-48667432529248482762009-04-05T09:19:00.000-06:002009-04-05T09:19:00.000-06:00For a creationist you don't seem half bad, you are...For a creationist you don't seem half bad, you are right on your second 2 points, the first I can make no judgment on as it is a matter of faith. Your logic regarding your second 2 points is somewhat flawed though. Evolution is not a bad theory because it cannot explain the origin of life, it only explains what happened after life first arose, and demonstrates through overwhelming evidence that all life shares a common ancestor, or small group of common ancestors. Saying that evolution is a bad theory because it cannot explain the origin of life is a bit like saying Chemistry is bad science because it can't explain the origin of the elements, just how the elements interact and behave currently. On your 3rd point social Darwinism has absolutely nothing to do with Evolution, it was a nasty little idea cooked up and used to deal with undesirables. Just as Christianity has been twisted in the past as an excuse to deal with undesirables. People like to use ideas they don't fully understand, but that they feel are powerful as excuses to carry out terrible acts.Wakimnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4206974101759413323.post-20490174603464779032009-04-03T18:31:00.000-06:002009-04-03T18:31:00.000-06:00Thanks, Matthew! Thanks, Matthew!Terry Laudetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17725093818552655944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4206974101759413323.post-77105356694580000342009-04-03T15:32:00.000-06:002009-04-03T15:32:00.000-06:00All true my friendAll true my friendMatthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12804021069554494090noreply@blogger.com
