Why Do Unbelieving Preachers Stay in Ministry?

Albert Mohler has an interesting post on atheistic ministers at http://www.albertmohler.com/2010/03/18/clergy-who-don. A few unbelieving ministers who continue to serve in ministry explain their motives. It may not be surprising, but it is interesting to read.

Sad, but not shocking. I struggled with faith early in my ministry and kept studying my way to a firmer faith. If I had not come to a firmer faith, though, I probably would have had to leave ministry. I wrote about my experience here: http://warrenbaldwinbiblefountain.blogspot.com/2010/02/belief-aids.html

Thanks for sharing that post, Warren. It was good (as always).

Thanks for the story, I am (on the other hand) shocked, but I see how the money would make them hesitant to out themselves.

Hi, Riki! Have you been to the Weekend to Remember conference yet? I can't remember when you were going, but I know it was supposed to be sometime this month.

Thanks for leaving another comment!

Yes, it was this past weekend. I just left a comment on the original post, but thanks again for allowing us to go! I feel we will be blessed over and over by the conference.

You're welcome, Riki. I saw your other comment, and I love that you plan to "pay it forward" by paying for someone else to attend next time! I felt the same way after attending the Weekend to Remember a few years ago. We had won a contest on the radio which allowed us to go for free at that time. I can't imagine a better marriage conference, and like you, I would love for more and more people to get the opportunity to attend.
