Infanticide and Politics

"Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
If you say, 'But we know nothing about this,'
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?" (Proverbs 24:11-12).

I cannot pretend to be neutral. I am pro-life. Please check out http://www.bornalivetruth.org/ to find out about Senator Obama's record on infanticide. It is disturbing.

(Thanks to fellow blogger Christy Ellis for alerting me to the web site.)

(After reading this post again, I realized that I needed to explain my pro-life convictions and why I am not neutral on this issue. My explanation can be understood best by reading two of my previous posts:

http://adisciplesthoughts.blogspot.com/2007/01/happy-birthday-christopher.html
http://adisciplesthoughts.blogspot.com/2007/06/sage.html

In those posts, you will see why this issue affects me so personally and why I am so committed to opposing the unnecessary killing of children.)

Very moving post about Sage. God is good. You worked in hearts of people without even realizing it. Thanks for being so open with your life, it is very uplifting. Thanks also for sharing the video about Obama and his 'stand' or lack thereof, on abortion. People need to know.

I was surprised at the way God used my disappointment to impact someone, too. You never know how God will use you.

Wow - that's a pretty powerful testimony on the front page of that website:

"Can you imagine not giving babies their basic human rights, no matter how they entered our world? My name is Gianna Jessen, born 31 years ago after a failed abortion. I’m a survivor, as are many others…but if Barack Obama had his way, I wouldn’t be here.

Unfortunately, Barack Obama voted four times against affording these babies their most basic human right. I have serious concerns about Senator Obama’s record and views on this issue, given he voted against these protections four times as a state Senator. Just as abuse victims share their stories to educate the public, fight for the common good and hope that as a result politicians do what’s right, I felt it was important to come forward and give these new born babies a voice.

I am living proof these babies have a right to live, and I invite you to learn more about Senator Obama’s record on this important issue.

-Abortion Survivor Gianna Jessen"

Harding University's Dr. Jimmy Allen is also the product of a failed abortion. If you'd like to see him get riled up some time, ask him what he thinks about the subject.

Just think - if Jimmy hadn't been here, how many of the people he shared Jesus with would know Him today?

Gianna Jessen's story is extremely powerful. She is a living testimony against abortion and infanticide.

I did not know about Jimmy Allen's story. I heard him speak once a few years ago at a church in Norman, Oklahoma. I think he was preaching a series on social issues like abortion, but I did not remember his story about his birth. However, I do remember his passion about the subject. Thanks for sharing the info!
