A Weekend to Remember Contest

Three years ago, I won tickets from a local radio station to attend FamilyLife's A Weekend to Remember marriage conference. Janet and I had a great time.

During the conference, we learned about the biblical plan for the role of husbands, the role of wives, valuing each other as God's gifts, sexual intimacy, communication, and many other subjects. The speakers were insightful and humorous. They even set aside time on Saturday night for couples to have a date night together. It truly lived up to its name. It was a weekend to remember.

Since we enjoyed the conference so much, Janet and I have decided to pay the registration for another couple to experience A Weekend to Remember. The conferences are being held across the United States and in Canada this spring. You may find information about dates, locations, and other details at www.weekendtoremember.com.

In order to win registration to A Weekend to Remember, please leave a comment on this post. The contest will be open until 12:01 am January 10, 2010. Next Sunday, I will randomly draw one name from the comments section of the reader who will win the registration. (Sorry, but we cannot pay for your hotel room and meals; but the registration fee is valued at $258, so it is still a very valuable prize for a blog contest.) If you are the winner, we will get your mailing address and instruct FamilyLife to send a gift certificate for you and your spouse to attend the conference of your choice.

Of course, if no one enters the contest, Janet and I will enjoy another Weekend to Remember ourselves. But we hope others will take advantage of this opportunity to possibly win this prize.

My husband and I are parents to 5 children ages 3,5,8,10,11. We have been looking into going away to one of these, but just not sure we could afford it. We are 33 yrs old and have been married 11 years but together for 20. We could definately use this weekend! What a gracious thing to be offering.

My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary in February. We have had quite a few friends go through divorce and it's so sad for them and we're praying that we will always be strong, loving, respectful, caring, etc to each other. We have a 3 and 5 year old and could use this as a way to just have some alone time. I think I remember what that was like. :)

OH and I just saw that they're having a buy one, get one free registration! Use Code "Hope" I saw this on

Thanks, Riki. I called FamilyLife this morning to ask about their 2-for-1 offer, and discovered that it does apply to gift registrations. So the good news is that I am now planning on giving away registrations for 2 couples instead of one. At this point, each of my 4 commenters has a 50% chance of winning. I hope that's encouraging to everyone who has entered so far.

I appreciate all of you for leaving comments...and I'm looking forward to announcing the winners in a couple of days.

Thank you for entering the contest, everyone! The winners are Riki and Jill.

Riki and Jill,
Please e-mail me at tjclaud@msn.com with your names, your spouses' names, your mailing addresses, daytime phone numbers, and the dates and locations of the conferences that you would like to attend so that I can send them to FamilyLife. (Actually, if you do not want to send your phone numbers, it will be okay. The representative I talked to yesterday said that I could give FamilyLife my phone number if you are not comfortable with giving it out. However, the other information is necessary for them to send you the gift registrations. The dates and locations of the conferences may be found at www.weekendtoremember.com.) After I have sent them the information and the money, they will send the gift registrations to you. Please do it this week, because the 2-for-1 promotion ends this week. Also, you will find information about the hotels and their room rates at the same site. (It is not required that you stay at the hotel, but you will probably enjoy it a little more if you can afford it.)
I hope you enjoy the conference as much as Janet and I did.

Once again, I want to thank everyone for participating.

Thanks so much!!! The info has been sent to you just now. We got a babysitter lined up and everything, thanks to the in-laws. What a great annivesary present as the conference is at the end of March and our anniversary is mid-February. Thanks again!

Riki and Jill,
I just called FamilyLife. Your (and your spouses') registrations are now paid. If a problem arises, you may call FamilyLife at 1-800-FLTODAY. Your registrations are under my name (Terry Laudett), but when you arive at the conference you will receive your name tags and registration packets under your names. You will not need to do anything else to register. Please remember that the hotel room is not included in the contest, but if you want to stay at the hotel (it's not required), you will need to make reservations for yourselves and your husbands. I hope you enjoy your conferences. Thanks for reading my blog and leaving your comments.

Hey Terry,
Thank you so much for the chance to go to the conference - it was this past weekend! I have a friend in mind who I have told I will pay for her and her husband to go next year. My favorite part was the love letter to each other, it had been a long time since either of us had expressed our thoughts in writing or even aloud. I think that the weekend has shown us where we are good, shown us places to improve, and I liked the advice on parenting too. Thanks again, it was wonderful to get the opportunity to go, and I intend to pay it forward.
