The Coolest Hymn Ever

We spent a great Mother Day's weekend with my mother-in-law in Fairland, Oklahoma. During the worship service at First Christian Church, we sang the coolest hymn ever: Amazing Grace to the tune of Lynyrd Skynyrd's rock anthem Sweet Home Alabama. I would love to introduce it to the Contact Church, but I'm not sure we could pull it off without a band.

Nice!

Did anyone hold up a lighter and yell, "Play some Freebird!"

No. But a few years ago, we were at a church and Christopher liked one song so much that he held up one of his toys with a light on it as it was being sung.

I'm trying to sing that in my head, but it's not working! LOL!

Part of the problem may be that I forgot to mention that a chorus was added to "Amazing Grace." Instead of singing "Sweet Home Alabama", you need to replace it with "Sweet Home Up in Heaven..." There are more lyrics in the chorus, but I can't remember what they are. I couldn't find it, but surely somebody has it on YouTube somewhere.
