Dealing with Pornography

"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:27-28, New King James Version).

Mark Driscoll is producing a free online book dealing with the problem of pornography at http://relit.org/porn_again_christian/. (Warning: The content would be unsuitable for young children, but very appropriate for everyone who is a teenager or older.)

Yes. I saw this too. I think it is great Mark is coming out with this. The church he pastors is in a tough part of the country. It is good to equip his people with such knowledge.

Encouraged that so many men are reading Mark's online book.

It needs to be preached from the pulpits, discussed by the water cooler, and taught in the homes, by men of strong convictions--Men who are not just convicted by this book, but whose entire orientation has been radically altered and whose habits and heart have been changed by the truths exposed in this book; Men who understand their role as protectors and spiritual leaders and are living out those truths in their lives.

It's hard to teach the truths about the defiling, dehumanizing, soul destroying aspects of pornography to our sons and daughters, when an hour later we are engaged in the very thing we are exposing as evil.
